Join artist Brian Fleetwood (Mvskoke Creek) in a jewelry workshop, in which the artist will discuss his practice and participants will be guided through a creative process. This event is limited to 10 participants with a fee of $25 for materials. Fleetwood is a Santa Fe-based jewelry artist whose work is currently addressing ideas involving the connections between knowledge and the act of making, and the ways we can use making as a way of knowing. His work explores scientific themes, especially relating to biology and ecology, systems, and taxonomy. Fleetwood’s contemporary jewelry designs reflect the diversity of forms found in nature and invite us to adorn ourselves with its beauty. Fleetwood holds an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is currently teaching at the Institute of American Indian Arts.

Space is limited. For more information on this workshop and to RSVP, please contact MoCNA Membership and Program Manager Andrea R. Hanley (Navajo) at (505) 428-5907 or ahanley@iaia.edu.
