Outreach

IAIA Outreach includes Continuing Education and Land-Grant programs. IAIA Continuing Education (CE) is committed to providing comprehensive training and adult education for the advancement and growth in workforce skills, lifelong learning, and empowerment through community-based learning opportunities. The Land-Grant Programs through IAIA is a 1994 land-grant serving institution that provides agricultural educational and technical assistance through workshops.

Tribal Consultation

On January 26, 2021, President Biden issued a Presidential Memorandum on Tribal Consultations and Strengthening Nation-to-Nation Relationships that requires Federal agencies to prepare and periodically update a detailed plan of action to implement the policies and directives of Executive Order 13175 (Consultation and Coordination with Indian Tribal Governments).

The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) is a 1994 land-grant serving institution that provides agricultural educational and technical assistance through a variety of workshops. IAIA is working to have several consultation sessions in the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022. The consultation sessions will give IAIA the opportunity to listen to tribes and receive their recommendations and comments regarding the outreach programs that are overseen by the IAIA Land-Grant and Continuing Education programs. If you would like to participate, or if you have comments or recommendations, please send your information to Laurie Brayshaw (see contact information below).

Thank you for your partnership and support and for helping IAIA reach its mission “To empower creativity and leadership in Native arts and cultures through higher education, life-long learning, and outreach.”

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert Martin (Cherokee Nation)
IAIA President
