Exhibiting Culture—Panel

Sun, August 21, 2016, 11:00 am12:00 pm

| Free

Exhibiting Culture brings together artists, curators, museums, and universities to consider the future of presenting multiple voices and cultures in museums, galleries, educational institutions, and public spaces. This conversation explores how we indigenize and decolonize institutions, what should and should not be exhibited, models of collaboration and community participation, and ways to build powerful narratives around sensitive and contentious histories and objects.

Join panelists Anchorage Museum Director Julie Decker, Artist Shan Goshorn, and Philbrook Museum of Art Curator of Native American and Non-Western Art Christina Burke. Moderated by IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA) Chief Curator Dr. Manuela Well-Off-Man.
