2019 IAIA Alumni Luncheon

Dear IAIA Alumni,

Beginning June 1, 2020, the IAIA Alumni Council will be accepting Alumni Council nominations. We invite you to submit a nomination form to serve on the seven-member council. Four councilors, including myself, are approaching the end of their three-year service period.

Along with the expertise and commitment of fellow outgoing councilors Tristan Ahtone and Tahnee Growing Thunder, some of our most impactful service activities during this period include partnering with the IAIA Mentorship Program, the creation of the IAIA Alumni Reunion, and the development of an IAIA Alumni Scholarship Program. It has truly been a tremendous honor to serve the IAIA community in this capacity. As we enter a new election cycle, we are excited to see who will serve and lead our alumni into the future.

Outgoing Councilors are Heidi K. Brandow (Kānaka Maoli/Diné) ’13 , Tristan Ahtone (Kiowa) ’06 , Tahnee Growing Thunder (Kiowa/Mvskoke/Seminole) ’15 , and Cynthia King (Red Lake) ’73. Newly-elected councilors will join currently serving councilors Moira Garcia ’14, George Cramer (Karuk) ’17, and Leanne Campbell (Coeru d’Alene) ’13.

Nominations will be accepted online, in-person and on-campus, and via postal delivery. Please carefully review the nomination guidelines prior to applying. Eligibility

To be eligible to become an Alumni Councilor, you must hold a degree from IAIA (a high school diploma, AA, AFA, BA, BFA, or MFA). Current IAIA alumni faculty and staff are voting members but are not allowed candidacy.

Deadlines

• Online Nomination Deadline: June 30, 2020 at 11:59 pm (MST)
• Mail-in Nomination Deadline: All applications must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2020
• In-person Nomination Deadline: All items must be received in-person to the IAIA Advancement Office no later than June 30, 2020, by 4 pm (MST).

July 1–31, 2020 (Online voting only)
