Allan Houser Scholarship Fund—Donate Today
Over 60 supporters gathered with President Dr. Robert Martin (Cherokee), host Fran Mullin, members of the IAIA Foundation Board, and Office of Institutional Advancement staff on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in The Compound Restaurant’s garden patio to raise money and awareness for the Allan Houser Scholarship fund. Previous scholarship recipient Dezbah Evans (Yuchi/Navajo/Chippewa) and current recipient Anangookwe Wolf (Lac Courte Oreilles Chippewa Band of Lake Superior) were introduced by IAIA Studio Arts sculpture instructor Matt Eaton. The students spoke about the impact the scholarship has had on their studies and their success. In further celebration of the Allan Houser (Chiricahua Apache) legacy for IAIA, a small bronze Allan Houser Cerrillos sculpture was on display and was sold that evening to benefit the scholarship.
IAIA seeks an additional $4,000 to meet an anonymous $10,000 challenge match toward our goal of $40,000—won’t you please help the Allan Houser Scholarship fund?
