2020 IAIA Student Success Safety Summit

Wed, February 12, 2020, 8:30 am4:00 pm

| Free

IAIA students, faculty, and staff will gather on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, for IAIA’s Annual Student Success Safety Summit. This year’s topic is centered around Community Safety which includes workshops, presentations, and activities. IAIA is excited to welcome the keynote speaker for the event, Laura Fragua-Cota (Jemez Pueblo).

IAIA is committed to providing a safe learning environment and support network that motivates students to achieve their educational goals. As part of the efforts to increase student retention and graduation rates, we host this annual event to come together as a community for conversations about strategies to help our students succeed in college, safely—we are all part of the solution! IAIA invites you to learn, collaborate, create, and help build a strong community. We will focus on mission objective, IV. Ensure a safe community, and we will examine several institutional priorities.

To do so requires a strategically-planned pathway that tracks how departments and programs are contributing to our mission objectives:

  • Promote health, wellness, and safety
  • Strengthen Title IX programs and processes
  • Engage the community in addressing safety concerns
  • Develop educational and training programs to promote safety on campus and at the Museum

We will announce our 2020 Student of the Year, and there will be several prize drawings including two laptops donated by ASG for students! Students must attend all sessions and must be present to win. IAIA invites you to use your knowledge, collaboration, creativity, respect and integrity to build a strong community. The IAIA Student Success Safety Summit is only open to the IAIA Community.
