Santa Fe Concert Series

Live music is back in Santa Fe, and the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) is the presenting sponsor for Lensic 360’s Santa Fe Plaza Concert Series event with Native Roots and Sage Bond (Diné and Ndeh) on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 6:00 pm. The Santa Fe Plaza Concert Series invites Santa Feans and visitors alike to gather and enjoy great live music together at the Santa Fe Plaza, located in the 400-year-old historic heart of downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, for free!

Sponsored by the President’s Office and Communications Office.

Native Roots

Formed in 1997 by musician and composer John Williams (Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota Sioux) and vocalist and lyricist Shkeme Garcia (Tamaya and Jemez Pueblos), Albuquerque-based Native Roots are dedicated to the sound and spirit of Reggae music. Rooted in Native American life, culture, and music, both John and Shkeme are strongly influenced by Reggae music but didn’t know each other until a mutual friend introduced them. Determined to be more than a cover band, Native Roots focuses on creating their own unique sound. They have released four award-winning albums.

Sage Bond

Singer-songwriter Sage Bond (Diné and Ndeh) hails from the Four Corners region within the Navajo Nation. She has played with groups across genres and made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2023. Learn more about Sage Bond in the article, “Singer and heavy metal artist Sage Bond shares how music helps her heal,” in the Navajo-Hopi Observer.
