IAIA 2017 Staff and Faculty Exhibition “Forever Young”—Closing Reception
Thu, August 24, 2017, 3:00 pm–6:00 pm
| FreeEvent Navigation
Forever Young is an exhibition showcasing the artistry of IAIA staff and faculty based on the concepts of memory, emotion, imagination, freedom, and exploration. The works on display take the viewer backstage to get a glimpse of the artist and their process and how they work with these concepts.
Visitors are invited to participate in the creation of the IAIA Thunderbird Button Blanket by Jessie Ryker-Crawford. For this piece, guests can sew antique Mother-of-pearl buttons onto the blanket. Once the blanket is completed it will be added to the Borrowing Collection comprised of traditional regalia for graduating IAIA students to wear during commencement. The Borrowing Collection is available to students who cannot afford to have regalia made in celebration of their academic achievement.
