MoCNA Featured in “Discoveries in American Art”
Discoveries in American Art (DIAA) recently published a critical review of the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts’ (MoCNA) exhibition Action/Abstraction Redefined. The review “What You Never Knew About Abstraction in Native American Art,” written by Peter Falk, was published on May 19, 2019.
“Action/Abstraction Redefined contains five excellent essays that go even deeper in illuminating the cultural milieu and spiritual legacy that Native Americans tapped in developing innovative approaches to painting, sculpture, and printmaking. This cross-cultural dialogue continues to bring vigor to the art of Native Americans.”
About DIAA
DIAA is the only art publication with the special niche of exploring the lives and works of artists who were marginalized or who slipped through the cracks of art history—always for fascinating reasons. Along the way, DIAA occasionally intends to surprise readers with some emerging and mid-career talents that our Curatorial Board sees as shining brightly.
