IAIA is holding its annual Open House on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 2:00 pm—6:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Light food and refreshments will be provided by Bon Appétit Café. Download and view the 2018 IAIA Open House Brochure.

The annual Open House will feature exhibitions and demonstrations of all types throughout the campus, with open studios and classrooms, a bronze pour taking place at the Allan Houser Haozous Sculpture and Foundry Building, along with glass-making demonstrations throughout the day. Plus, you’ll be able to make your own bronze tile ($20 for each tile, proceeds go to the IAIA Sculpture Club).

Visitors will be able to take guided (and non-guided) tours of the campus, see screenings of 360º spherical films in the Digital Dome, visit the Art Conservation Lab, view Archery demonstrations and see Student Performance Art in the new Performing Arts and Fitness Center, watch Dances in the Dance Circle, have your photograph made in a Polaroid Photo Booth (first 50 participants) and listen to Student Readings in the Library, see a Fall Planting Demonstration in the Raised Gardens, purchase Student Art, and so much more.

IAIA Artist-in-Residence artists Sculptor Adrian Wall (Jemez Pueblo), Weaver TahNibaa Naataanii (Navajo), Jeweler Kenneth Johnson (Muscogee [Creek]/Seminole), and Traditional Artist Melanie Sainz (Ho-Chunk) will be opening their studios to the public.

Additionally, the IAIA Financial Aid Department will be available to assist students with completing their FAFSA paperwork and provide IAIA admissions information in the Library and Technology Center. A limited number of Recruitment Scholarships will be awarded to students who will be attending IAIA in the future.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the general public to visit IAIA’s beautiful campus and discover more about our mission, programs, and the creative talents of our amazing faculty and students.”
—IAIA President Dr. Robert Martin (Cherokee)

Honey Harris from The Big Show will be broadcasting live on KBAC 98.1 FM from 2–4 pm.
